Ingredients

3.0 cups Whole wheat flour
1.0 cup All-purpose flour
2.0 tsp Active dry yeast
1.0 tsp Salt
2.0 cups Warm water
2.0 tbsp Cornmeal

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Divide dough into 8 pieces and shape into discs.
  6. Sprinkle baking sheets with cornmeal and place dough discs on them.
  7. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C) with a baking stone if available.
  9. Bake for 5-7 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
